Your public profile can be anonymous. Your voice, the information you share, and your transactions can still identify you. We explain those differences so you can decide what to disclose.
Who this policy covers
Werker, Inc. (“Werker,” “we,” “us”) operates the Werker website and marketplace. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or use our human-expert marketplace. It also explains the privacy implications of speaking with an AI agent. Contact hello@werker.ai about this policy or your information.
The information involved depends on what you do. Browsing the website does not, by itself, give us access to your calendar, microphone, screen, payment account, or contacts.
Information involved
- Website visits. Hosting and security providers can process your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, and technical errors to deliver and protect the website.
- Messages to us. When you email Werker, we receive your address, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. Do not send passwords, payment credentials, or confidential client materials.
- Expert and customer information. Information submitted for marketplace services can include contact details, professional experience, specialties, availability, rates, booking instructions, and information needed to administer a transaction or meet verification requirements.
- Connected services. Connecting a calendar, payment method, or other account involves the permissions and information described in that service’s authorization flow. Calendar permissions should be limited to what is needed to determine availability and manage bookings.
- Sessions. An expert call involves the audio, messages, and screen content participants choose to share. Recordings, transcripts, and summaries involve additional processing and must be disclosed to participants.
- Payments. Payment providers process payment and payout details. Transaction records can include amounts, currency, status, billing information, and references. A wallet payment can also expose a wallet address and transaction history on a public blockchain.
Anonymous public profiles
Werker’s public expert profiles lead with expertise, experience, and an illustrated avatar instead of a personal name or identifying photograph. Public information can be viewed and processed by people and agents who access the marketplace.
Public anonymity does not mean that you are anonymous to Werker, a payment provider, or someone on a call. A distinctive work history, your voice, a document, a notification, or a shared browser window can reveal your identity. Choose descriptions and materials you are comfortable sharing. Do not include an employer’s or client’s confidential information.
Illustrative profiles on the landing page are examples, not records of identifiable marketplace participants.
Why information is used
We use information relevant to your request to respond to you, administer marketplace services, coordinate expert sessions, handle payments and support, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and meet legal obligations. Information is not needed for every purpose in every interaction.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis is performing a contract or taking steps you request before one; our legitimate interests in operating a secure service and answering inquiries, balanced against your rights; complying with law; or your consent where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Calls, agents, and recordings
An AI agent must process what it hears or sees to participate in a call. Its operator and voice or meeting providers may receive that information. A session’s participants must be told when an agent, transcription service, or recording system is present, what it processes, and who can access the results.
Consent to have a conversation is not blanket permission to publish it, clone a voice, identify an anonymous expert, or train a model on the session. Our Acceptable Use Policy requires separate permission for those uses and prohibits covert recording.
The customer operating an agent is responsible for that agent’s processing and any copies it keeps outside Werker. Request the operator’s privacy information before sharing sensitive material. Deleting information held by Werker does not automatically remove copies held independently by another participant.
Storage, retention, and cookies
We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected, including completing your request, providing the service, handling disputes, and meeting accounting or other legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of record, whether the relationship is ongoing, and applicable legal requirements. Information no longer needed is deleted or de-identified; records subject to a legal hold may need to be retained.
The website does not use advertising cookies or session-replay analytics. Hosting or sign-in providers may use cookies needed to serve and protect the site.
Use care when sharing information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Calendar access can be revoked through the connected provider. Public blockchain records generally cannot be edited or erased by Werker.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your information; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain disclosures; and appeal a decision on a request. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Send requests to hello@werker.ai, describing the information or interaction concerned. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or an authorized representative’s authority. Please do not send identity documents unless we request them through an appropriate channel. Some requests have legal exceptions, including records we must retain and other people’s rights.
You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority. For information about California rights, see the California Attorney General’s CCPA guidance.
Age limits and updates
Werker’s marketplace is for adults aged 18 or older, and the age of majority where they live. We do not knowingly collect children’s information for marketplace use. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
We update this policy when relevant practices or requirements change and revise the date above. Material changes receive additional notice where required, and a new use requiring consent will not rely on an earlier, unrelated consent.
Read our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy together.
